Hi there. Just to say i am a small gerbil rehome based in Dundee in Scotland. If you still have the two gerbils left i could possibly take them on and try and re-introduce the two lads.
Often odd numbers cause fights to break out. Ive had plenty of experience of gerbils who bite and so far have a hundred percent record of managing to re-tame them. Please let me know if there is anything i can do.
Obviously it would mean trying to arrange transport etc but i can often get people to help out with this.
My website is www.gerbilsociety.com/indysrascals (http://www.gerbilsociety.com/indysrascals) if you want a nosey.

what a fab website Nicki :thumb:

Such a shame about the two that ended up on freecycle with all that misleading/incorrect info, which is majority of reasons why they end up back in rescue.

Thanks! Am really needing to update it but our computer isnt working properly so i have to nip into mums to use hers  Hopefully s hould be properly back online in a couple weeks.

It is a real shame about the freecycle gerbils. I really trusted this person and still feel really saddened by it. Im always hoping they find their way back here one day! Never give up :)

Oh he's a grey agouti. Gorgeous! He looks l ike quite a big lad! The biting is quite likely due to mishandling - maybe in previous home? Its probably a behaviour he has learnt to make the big grabbing hands go away! I'll get my thick gardening gloves out for him

We have a gerbil that used to be horrific with handling. He would even run from one end of the tank over to your hand if it moved in or near the cage and sink his teeth in. Picking him up was impossible. It took a long time for him but now i can pick him up with my bare hands, stroke hm and hold him etc and he is fine so there is definately hope that this little lad will be rehomeable. He probably feels a bit insecure being on his own too.

This is Damien now (sorry piccies are a bit naff)

Just to let everyone know thanks to a lovely lady called sylvia - little shadow has made his way from Polegate to my friend in Barnsley. He's having a little rest after his journey and will stay there until we can get the rest of his journey complete.

That's great news

Really sorry I couldn't help Indyrascal  I had just got to Cornwall when I got your message, so frustrating as I would have been usually happy to help. So I sent your text to Sylvia and asked if she could help, and I am so glad she could

Very little I could do, I was staying in a part of Cornwall, with no mobile reception and no access to the internet for a whole week.

Thanks so much for the help Indyrascal and I hope little Shadow has settled in

Wee Shadow is doing great at his temporary home in barnsley. Tracey and family have him out daily and although he does sometimes nip a little hes getting a lot better. They say he is really friendly and confident and Hannah - Traceys daughter has been pickinghim up with no problems :)
