Theres been a suggestion that perhaps the cat is on its way to its original home?

5th November 2011, 05:39 PM
I very much doubt it unless she is a cat that is streetwise and used to going out all the time wondering off for day at a time sometime, but as she is a Persian and from the picture of her hiding away the night before I am guessing she isn't very far at all just hiding very very well. It might be worth the old owner doing a voice recording of them calling her name and playing that outside where she went missing she may come to the sound of her old owners voice. Also put some really smelly fish outside and inside the trap as she is more likely to be able to smell it and come running. Not too much outside the trap though because otherwise she will fill herself up and then not want the food in the trap, best to cover the trap with a blanket as well to make it look safe and then she may just go in it. Poor baby I so hoped she would be found before the fire works went off:( :crossed: she can be found soon :cathug:

The old owner is dead. They were being fed by the son but he did not have much contact. Ruby was an indoor / outdoor cat who did have free run of the area. Sharing again.

5th November 2011, 05:53 PM
It still might be worth the son doing a recording as its a voice she will know quite well and I still very much doubt she is trying to get home though. The last 2 cats that went missing on route from here were all found not far from where they go loose so I think this is likely to be the case for this little one.
The last one that got loose was trapped not far from where she jumped out so lets hope this is the same for Ruby :crossed: :crossed: :crossed:

I agree - I think she will be hiding up - god all those fireworks going off though - horrible.

5th November 2011, 06:15 PM
?? get the kids from the neighbourhood to look at for her in the day tomorrow as they tend to be lower down and get in all the tight corners and spaces an adult might not be able to get in also cats tend to find kids less of a threat then us adults. :uh: I keep thinking of ideas though.

6th November 2011, 11:04 AM
We have had someone ask where in in Harold Hill she was lost? they have family there so they can help look :)

Cat Detective

Think it was near Widecome Road in Harold Wood - but I will check.

Compiling a list of local persian rescues and breeders later to see if she may have been handed into one of them.

raggie doll
15th November 2011, 09:25 AM
Peronally i think someone has taken her in or is at least feeding her, its also possible someones seen a lovely looking cat and thought ill keep her not bothering to let anyone know

15th November 2011, 09:37 AM
Hi tash yes thats what i was thinking or hoping. How is tilly?

raggie doll
15th November 2011, 09:41 AM
Well i called as by 9.05 the vet hadn't lol
They said she had been stable throughout the night :) but said they hadn't given her insulin yet cause she had only eaten a little, grrrrr but this is Tilly she is really fussy about her food and requires me normally to sit stroking her lol I was really hoping i could bring her back but don't know yet, I'm calling back at 11.30 cause the vet only passed on this message i didn't actually get to speak to him

15th November 2011, 03:46 PM
:cry3: I so hoped she would have been found by now :cry3:

15th November 2011, 03:50 PM
Hi Kel excited? do you not think someone has taken her in?

15th November 2011, 03:54 PM
Honestly I don't think so, I would like to think someone has but I don't think it is the case for this one, I would love to be proved wrong though and find out when I get back that she is back safe and sound :cathug:

15th November 2011, 06:50 PM
deb and i were talking about this earlier, we too feel as there have been no sightings or response to the newspaper article and posters that there is a high possibilty that she has been killed :cry3:

Cat Detective
18th November 2011, 07:46 PM
still missing

24th November 2011, 12:10 PM
Oh this is so sad. Presume flyers have been distributed in the area (I can print some if required and mail to someone in the area to hand out)? Don't people transfer animals inside the car so they can't escape...? Poor, poor baby.

24th November 2011, 03:00 PM
yes julie flyers have been done and a article in the newspapers but still nothing sadly, and yes transfers should be done, if at all, inside a closed car, lauren does feel very bad about making this mistake :cry3:

Cat Detective
27th November 2011, 12:00 AM
Ruby is still missing.

I think she is either in someone's house or sadly deceased, likely to be the latter.........

27th November 2011, 01:30 PM
I have to say I think she is sadly no longer with us as well :cry3:

Its strange as I was only saying to a few people before she went missing that I was going to write a fact sheet for transferring animals on route and then thought it bad taste to write it when Ruby went missing and was waiting for her to be found before doing it. Ruby isn't the first cat to escape on route to rescue or a new home through us sadly, but I am happy to say the others were found and did end up where they were going in the end. Its no ones fault any of these cats escaped and it could happen to anyone, but I think I will write a fact sheet and pop it up in the transport request section just to try and prevent this happening again in the future if everyone is ok with me doing that.

2nd December 2011, 02:22 PM
FANTASTIC NEW.......YES RUBY HAS BEEN SPOTTED..LAUREN HAS SEEN HER AND CONFIRMED IT IS RUBY...A man contacted Lauren and is now trying to get her, apparantly she is very nervous so trying to coax her in....
