Homing Requirements: Rolo needs a terrier experienced family to continually improve his confidence & trust in meetings. A REHAB home i.e. not for a 'keep him away from everything' family, but managed intro and confidence building. Rolo wears a muzzle to enable him to enjoy his walks, building his confidence meeting dogs and people without his walkers concern of people 'gushing' him or off lead dogs rushing him. He still can get frightened but is losing now his instinct to lunge. Fully trustworthy once his trust is there. He would love a secure garden with exit management.

His Story: Rolo was born on Christmas day, his owner became ill, lost her job and moved house and the landlord ousted Rolo. Rolo had led a very restricted life kept away from visitors and had no walks. Rolo is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Now in foster in a multi dog household and now much more relaxed in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Advert: Rolo was under socialized so was fearful when he came to us. We have since built up his confidence and he is learning to trust and cope in life. Rolo needs careful introductions to visitors but now, if not 'rushed', makes friendship easily. Rolo needs a slow reassuring approach and soon becomes firm friends but his nerves on approach means his potential family remains elusive. Rolo loves the car travel as the front passenger.

Rolo is a 2 years old wire-haired Patterdale and grew up as an only dog. Rolo meets dogs well outside as any terrier does! He has learnt to settle with dogs at his foster home. Rolo can be left and is content in his only company but you may find him playing with his toys on arrival.

Please visit Rolo’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremediesdogrescue.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=20 to find out if he is still available and for fuller details.

When I first set my eyes on Rolo my heart did a triple salchow and a double axel and landed somewhere in my throat! WOW!

He is a little chunky and has the most spectacular chocolate coloured broken curly coat and the cheekiest monkey face! He also had the same amount of attitude and back chat to go with it - definitely for the terrier experienced home, but they will enjoy bringing him on and seeing him open up to the world and all the pleasures it has to offer him. Time for him to let himself go and let someone else take on the pressure of being the boss.

An update from Rolo's fosterer:

"Gosh! It's over a month since my last "post" on the adorable, yet feisty, little Rolo.

He is a terrier from the tip of his nose to the end of his little tail. Always excited to meet and greet anybody he knows....rushing along the hall to welcome his dogwalker, with his little, stumpy tail wagging furiously. He's not so keen to have his muzzle put on, but we live near a school with children running back and forth at all times of the day and he can jump up and show his teeth to people he doesn't know, so it is in his interest that he has to wear it when he leaves and returns to the house.

On his walks he enjoys chasing and fetching his ball and exploring in the long wet grass!!

He loves a cuddle, can be a bit "mouthy" but quickly settles to snoozes away the evening beside me on the settee. We can just about squash four dogs on to the cushions at any one time, with me taking up no more than my "share" of the space and Zena probably have about double that of anybody else!!.

He is a lovely little man, needs a bit of understanding, but repays kindness with affection and loyalty".

Rolo is still available for adoption – if you are interested in offering Rolo a home please complete our homing questionnaire on this link: https://rescueremedies.wufoo.eu/forms/rescue-remedies-homing-questionnaire/

I was a little in love when I met Rolo in the summer so it was good to meet the leaner boy again and yes there is less of him and I love him a little bit more!
