Hi all.

We try to keep all our dogs in foster homes but sometimes we have to temporarily put them in some local kennels. We hate to do this as it is stressful for the dogs and is also quite expensive :(
We don't have a particular time limit on these guys but we really want to get them into foster homes as soon as poss...

If you think you could foster for us, whether it is any of the following dogs or not, then please fill our a fostering application and one of our lovely fostering coordinators will give you a call! http://www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/foster.html

Some of our dogs needing foster homes...

Neutered: Y
Temperament: Nervous but coming out of shell. Happy and friendly

Other: Came in with Benjy as owner passed away. He had a really sore eye and needs eye drops putting in daily. He was so very nervous when he came in but now he has started to come out of his shell. He is a happy friendly boy in need of tlc and training. He is all over the place on a lead (better now he wears a harness) and tends to jump up and wants to be right in your face or on your lap! He needs reassuring. He is a really lovely dog and we think he's crossed with a collie

Hi, I'm looking to foster a dog. I live in the staffordshire but am only 18 so fostering is a better option for me. Would I be able foster a dog? Or do you consider me too young? I could do with a jogging companion. :)

Hi jason,

I'm not sure on FOARCT's conditions but I know alot of rescues ask that if your still living with your parents then your parents are the "official" fosterers.
Best bet is to PM the poster and ask them what they would do.

Have you ever had a homecheck?

I'm available, offered to foster for a few rescues and generally found that the rescues are not in my area and really too far away for my offer of fostering to be of any help.

I'm available for fostering but with my 2 children and 4 cats I'm not much use to anyone :sorry2: If I can help I will though, all my details are in the fostering section :)

I am available to foster but like the other lady, there doesn't seem to be much need for fosterers in Lancashire where I am especially due to the fact I cannot travel far to collect a dog as I can't drive and only my husband to drive at weekends if he isn't working, but if I can be of help I am depserate to help out and foster

Sorry for slow reply! Thought I had turned email notification on but obviously not :dur:

Right will try to get through everyone's comments...

JASON
You would be able to foster for us yes :) As far as I'm aware (but don't quote me on this!!) at 18 you could count as the "official" fosterer and could make the application and do all fosterer tasks yourself. However your parents would have to be present at the home check (basically just checking that you live where you say you live and your garden is secure).
Please fill out a foster application form and our fostering coordinator will give you a ring and you can have a chat about all the details :)

JENNYC
Thank you for replying to Jason with good advice. At least someone's on the ball lol

IZZYM52
Thank you very much for your offer. We often get dogs in that are cat friendly and in fact we have two in at the moment who do :)
If you could fill out a foster application, our fostering coordinator will be in contact for a chat and can match you up to a dog suitable for you!
http://www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/foster.html

RETIREDGREYHOUND
This is because we have a fab transport coordinator who is good at setting up runs to get dogs needing foster homes to available foster homes so no matter where you are... we will be able to get a dog to you :)
Please do fill out a fostering application and our fostering coordinator will ring you up for a chat to discuss fostering with you :)
http://www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/foster.html

LOLLYDEAKINS
KIds and cats are not a problem! We will only ever send a dog to a foster home if we are 100% certain it'll be happy with the people and animals it is around and vice versa. We often get dogs in that are good with kids and cats so I'm sure we can find one right for you :)
Please fill out a fostering application and our fostering coordinator will be in contact for a chat!
http://www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/foster.html

PEROXIDEBLADER
Thank you for your offer. Location is not a problem! We have fosterers all over the UK and as I said to retiredgreyhound, we are able to transport dogs needing foster homes to foster homes through a link of transport runs :)
Please fill out a foster form and our fostering coordinator will be in contact to discuss fostering with you!

.....

Right, I hope that is everyone. Will double check in a mo! Thank you all so much for your kind offers.

We are still in need of many foster homes. Some of our dogs currently needing foster homes are;

Chico - 2 year old Akita. 3 legged but strong and friendly. Good with other large dogs
Patch - 8 year old Terrier. Loves to play. Good with other smallish dogs and older children
Marley - 8 month old SBT x. Well socialised and friendly. Good with kids, cats and dogs.
Roly - 8 month old SBT x. Well socialised and friendly. Good with kids, cats and dogs.
Bosley - 9 month old SBT x Patterdale terrier. Has some basic training but can be bit boisterous. Good with dogs, kids and thinks cats are another thing to play with.
