Thread: Top Tip - Moving Images/Smilies Getting On Your Nerves??

Question Top Tip - Moving Images/Smilies Getting On Your Nerves??

If these drive you nuts then you can easily either turn them off or just stop them moving if you'd prefer!

To make them stationary if you're using IE or Firefox just press Esc on the top left hand corner of your keyboard and hey presto, they should stop moving!

If you don't want them visible at all then go to User Options, click on Board Preferences and then » Edit display options on the left hand side of the screen.

Then next to 'Display smilies as images:' select NO, scroll down and click on 'submit' and no more smilies. :D

You can use the same menu to chose not to display signatures and avatars too if you'd prefer. :)

EH? THEY ARE GREAT. I LOVE THE SMILEYS ON THIS FORUM.

You'll have to bully Sully into putting them on the Great Dane Owners Forum! :P

I must admit, I'm a bit of a smiley addict; I've got thousands of them stashed on a little programme called SmileyPad that allows you to drag and drop smileys into any forum, which is quite useful!

I was asked about this recently so I thought I'd bump it up for those members who haven't come across this before. :goodjob:

Hi, thanks for the tip. I do sometimes find the signature banners clutter the viewing of the messages. However, you may have a coding error on one page as when I tried to edit the display options, I get a Parse syntax error, so your web admin may need to take a look at this page for you.

It does too. I'll go have a look. :thumb: I've managed to turn off them off for you in the meantime.
